Chocolate Oats Mug Cake – Quick & Easy Dessert Recipe

Who doesn’t like a soft and spongy chocolate cake? But often, to make an entire cake, it could take us much more time than we can invest! In such times, quick and easy recipes like these could be your saviour!

While we are all quarantined in our houses because of COVID-19, most of us are scared to order food online no matter how much we are craving to eat certain dishes! Therefore, I just HAD to share this recipe with you all incase you are craving for something sweet or chocolaty.

Preparation Time : 5-7 minutes

Cooking Time : 2 minutes

Course : Dessert

Serves : 2 (Or 1 person, in case you want it all by yourself. It is totally understandable!!)

INGREDIENTS

Oats – 4-5 tbsps

Sugar – 3-4 tsps

Cocoa Powder – 1 tbsp

Baking Powder – 1/2 tsp

Egg – 1

Vanilla essence – 1 tsp

Vegetable Oil – 2 tbsps

Milk – 1 tbsp

Cashew – 3-4 pcs

HOW TO MAKE

Take 4-5 tbsps of instant oats.

Pour it in a mixer grinder.

Add the sugar in the same jar.

Blend it into a fine powder.

Note : If you have ready made oats flour, you can use that directly.

Start with adding all the dry ingredients. Firstly, add baking powder to the flour.

Now, add cocoa powder.

Take the vanilla essence and pour it into the dry ingredients.

Next, pour in one whole egg.

Following this, add milk to the rest of the ingredients.

Finally, add the vegetable oil. You can also use butter instead of oil.

Mix all the ingredients together into a semi-thin batter.

The texture of the batter shouldn’t be too thick, nor should it be watery. If it feels thick, add some more milk and if it feels too thin, add some more flour and powdered sugar into the batter.

Chop some cashews or anything you would prefer as topping.

Suggestions : Chocolate chips, roughly chopped chocolates, raisins, almonds, dates, and bananas. ANYTHING you love! Who is going to judge this anyway?!

Grease the cup or mug with two drops of oil. Then pour the batter into it and top with some chopped cashews. Make sure the batter is filled only 1/4th of the mug.

Put it in the microwave oven and microwave for 2 minutes at the highest power available in your microwave oven.

Your chocolate oats mug cake is ready in two minutes! Let it cool for 5 minutes and then have it just as it is, or put frosting of your choice and have it.

A different vessel, like a small bowl could also be used instead of a mug or a cup and the same steps to microwave this could be followed.

Enjoy this delicious, quick and easy mug cake and share it with us how you liked it! Don’t forget to comment below.
